R. P. Scherer places Order with Werum for large
MES Project

Lueneburg, Germany, November 13, 2008 - At its headquarters in Eberbach, Germany, the pharmaceutical
company R. P. Scherer will be implementing Werum Software & Systems' PAS-X Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
Werum will deploy a comprehensive MES standard solution which comprises all major PAS-X business functions. In
addition, Werum will develop and install a number of specially customized software functions for corporate planning
to support production processes on the shop floor. These include for instance functions in the areas of order processing
and materials management. These enhancements will be implemented using Werum's PAS-X development platform.
Werum will provide a turnkey system to R. P. Scherer to replace the current in-house software solution, which
has reached the end of its life cycle. The project is fully in line with one of R. P. Scherer's major goals,
which is to adopt industry standards for future automation.
The project was kicked off in September 2008 and is scheduled to go live in 2010.
