Validated and production ready Merck PAS-X CORE system is the basis for global harmonization of MES installations
Parsippany, NJ, March 12, 2009 - Merck & Co., a global Werum MES customer, approaches the beginning of a substantial roll-out of the product suite PAS-X. This MES deployment, a part of Merck's standardization initiative, aims at achieving global harmonization of Merck's MES installations.
The implementation of PAS-X will focus on managing a large variety of primary and secondary pharmaceutical manufacturing processes which include the production of traditional pharmaceuticals (solids and liquids), APIs (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients), and biopharmaceuticals.
Merck and Werum have developed a validated and production ready Merck PAS-X CORE system; providing comprehensive functionality including Weighing & Dispensing, Master Batch Records Management, Electronic Batch Recording as well as standard interfaces to SAP and DCS.
Based on the initial MES inception at Merck's new vaccine plant in Durham, NC, the CORE version will be launched at the Elkton, VA and West Point, PA sites; in parallel to an additional six sites in Europe. The CORE version will be rolled out in English, French, Italian and Spanish enabling the goal to fulfil the requirements of all sites with one unified CORE version.
