Lueneburg, Germany, December 3, 2008 - Bayer Technology and Engineering (Shanghai) Co. Ltd. (BTES) and Werum Software & Systems have renewed their cooperation agreement until 2012. BTES will continue to be Werum's exclusive partner in China for marketing and project execution of Werum's Manufacturing Execution System (MES) PAS-X. BTES and Werum signed the new agreement during the PAS-X User Group meeting held in Lueneburg, Germany, this November.
Since signing the first contract with Werum back in 2006, BTES has broadened its expertise in this field through further investing in both people and facilities. Within the BTES Advanced Manufacturing Solutions Department (AMS) there are now several MES experts. Furthermore, since the middle of 2007, an MES showroom was set up as a base for localized services, with a hands-on PAS-X demonstration system supporting both English and Chinese professionals.
Like any state-of-the-art technology, MES is becoming a well recognized IT solution within the Chinese healthcare sector. It is one of the key technologies that can help pharmaceutical manufacturers achieve manufacturing excellence and build up competitive advantages.
Talking about the future of this cooperation, Dr. Udo Ammerahl, Head of BTES AMS, is optimistic.
